Have you ever thought you had a story to tell, but not necessarily on paper? Stories can be told in many ways. Using scraps of fabric, vintage textiles, and embroidery threads, participants in this program will create a miniature quilt that tells a story of a life event or passion, a visual representation of your personal history. The workshop will begin on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 with a presentation and truck show of textiles and the histories they tell with Meta Van Nostran. Then, participants will select their own fabrics, working with colors and patterns to collage an experience, a moment, or a life task. Be sure to mark your calendars for the following Tuesdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for the Stitching Stories Workshops: Tuesday August 27 September 3 September 10 September 17 September 24 October 8 October 15 The finished work will be displayed at the Southeast Ohio History Center.
